The nose presents greedy notes of acacia, honey, white fruit and toast. The texture is ample, with silky bubbles. The barrel ageing adds some tannins and toasty notes, accompanied by aromas of poached pear with star anise and Espelette pepper. The finish is well-balanced, with a saline and slightly mentholated finish. A champagne for pleasure.

Robert Barbichon

The Robert Barbichon estate covers five villages around Gyé-sur-Seine and Celles-sur-Ource. It is in the heart of the Côte des Bar, in the south of Champagne, that the two vineyards of the Barbichon and Prélat families have come together. Since 2010, Robert Barbichon champagnes have produced organically grown wines, and since 2012, biodynamic viticulture. With Thomas and Maxime, it's now the fourth generation to work the land and vines: 70% of the parcels have an average vine age of 38 years. Most of the vines are pinot noir (75%), alongside white varieties such as chardonnay and pinot blanc (16%), and pinot meunier (9%).
