Pale gold in color, with a silvery hint on the sides of the glass. The bubbles are fine and rise quickly in the glass. The nose is expressive, with floral notes of hawthorn and white freesia, followed by fruity notes of mirabelle plum, pear, medlar jelly and lemon cake. The palate is lively from the outset, with a thirst-quenching, lemony texture. The wine remains young and dashing, with a structure refined by the bubbles. The finish is zesty. Ideal as an aperitif or with fine fish such as monkfish brochettes in Béarnaise sauce.

This former family winegrower's house is rooted in the Côte des Bar region, solely on the Ource hillsides. Together with his children Lucie and Sébastien, Richard Cheurlin farms 7 hectares, two-thirds of which are planted with pinot noir, the rest with chardonnay and pinot blanc, on a terroir of predominantly clay-limestone and white marl. No herbicides are used, the soil is worked with scratches, buttage and grass management depending on the plot, and he also favors prophylactic control with severe disbudding, plant-based preparations and essential oils to stimulate his vines. In love with his wines and his land, each vintage represents the selection of a parcel corresponding to a specific terroir.
