Chalk and iodine aromas take center stage at first, while aeration reveals straightforward notes reminiscent of a windswept beach, followed by more pastry-like aromas of scones and brioche. The finesse of the bubbles accompanies a delicate, loose body that's still a little shy. Lemon acidity and bitterness fight a charming battle through to the finish. Still a little young, this champagne should gain in complexity over the next few years.
