The story begins with Lucien, who founded the company in 1928. At the same time, he created one of the Hautvillers cooperatives, before going independent with his son Louis. After supporting her father Régis for 10 years, her great-granddaughter Laure took over the reins of the family domaine in 2012, working with her husband Clément Préaux, who trained at Anselme Selosse and the Mailly Grand Cru cooperative. The grape varieties are worked on a plot-by-plot basis, and the winemaking methods are organically inspired.
