Laurent Bénard
The estate is located in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, in a renowned village classified as a premier cru. Certified organic, Laurent Bénard and his wife have also opted for certification of their cellar practices since 2012. Soil tillage, no sulfur added at bottling, wood ageing and low dosage are daily practices in the quest for authentic champagnes. As an engineer, Laurent Bénard sees organic farming as a means to an end, and not an end in itself, in the service of producing champagnes that are currently highly sought-after. The house style tends towards subtle oxidative notes, making them remarkable table companions. Selective distribution in the on-trade.
