A wine in a class of its own, both dessert and discovery. Its nose is woody, with notes of cocoa, candied lemon, pear fruit paste, vanilla and caramel. It has fine bubbles and a taut, silky mouthfeel, with licorice, honey and red fruits. The 60g of sugar melt into the balance. The finish is salivating, with aromas of coffee, garrigue and lemon candy. An iron hand in a velvet glove, to be served with curried lamb.

Konrat

In Montigny-sous-Châtillon, the Konrat family’s ancestors developed viticulture across a variety of exposures and on a wide range of soil types (sand, limestone, clay, and even a vein of flint). Faustine and Marc carry on the family’s winemaking traditions while infusing them with a contemporary flair, producing an authentic gourmet champagne in which each grape variety from every plot is vinified in barrels, amphorae, demijohns, and a few stainless-steel tanks. Spanning 7 hectares of single-vineyard plots, the estate began its transition to organic farming in 2024. It is expected to receive organic certification in 2027.
