Gault&Millau's review
On the slopes of the village of Moussy, close to Epernay, the family house of José Michel et Fils is one of the oldest in the area owning vineyards since 1847. The adventure began in the nineteenth century with Paul Michel (1860-1936) who was the first to harvest their grapes and began the first bottling in 1912. José Michel has been the winemaker since 1955 and with concerns aout quality, he adapts each of the three grape varieties with ideal soils and site exposures. The continuity of the family line continues with his three sons and grandchildren. The estate has been certified High Environmental Value (HVE) since 2014.
