Gault&Millau's review
The Labruyère family (who also own the domaine of the same name in Moulin-à-Vent, Domaine Jacques Prieur in Meursault and Château Rouget in Pomerol) didn't choose Verzenay by chance for their latest acquisition. Indeed, an unofficial classification dating from 1873 places this village on the Reims mountain among the top three crus in the Champagne region. This new adventure in one of the 17 Grand Cru villages is in line with the family's historic philosophy of rediscovering and revitalizing French terroirs. As harvesters and handlers, the Labruyère family masters all stages of viticulture and vinification. This enables them to make a strong choice in favor of organic, uncompromising farming, in keeping with their fundamental values: terroir, tradition and excellence.
