Discreet chalky notes on the nose. A hint of smoke and undergrowth. On the palate, the attack is frank and taut, dominated by citrus and grapefruit. The bubbles invade the palate and elegantly texture the whole, playing on a jovial balance. A brilliant accompaniment to fruit desserts.

Dumangin J. Fils

Established for several generations south of Reims, in the town of Chigny-les-Roses, the Dumangin J. Fils house is now run by Gilles Dumangin and produces champagnes made primarily from Pinot Noir. Named a “Young Talent of Champagne 2025,” Gilles always seeks to achieve a sense of tension in his wines by avoiding malolactic fermentation as much as possible and aging them for at least 3 years for non-vintage champagnes and 9 years for vintage champagnes. His motto: “simplexity”—simply bringing out the complexity of the terroir. It’s worth noting that his ratafias have won international competitions on several occasions.
