Established for several generations south of Reims, in the town of Chigny-les-Roses, the Dumangin J. Fils house is now run by Gilles Dumangin and produces champagnes made primarily from Pinot Noir. Named a “Young Talent of Champagne 2025,” Gilles always seeks to achieve a sense of tension in his wines by avoiding malolactic fermentation as much as possible and aging them for at least 3 years for non-vintage champagnes and 9 years for vintage champagnes. His motto: “simplexity”—simply bringing out the complexity of the terroir. It’s worth noting that his ratafias have won international competitions on several occasions.
