Winery presentation by Gault&Millau
Henri Merreaux created the little Merreaux champagne in 1949, which has since been handed down from generation to generation. Christine, his great-granddaughter, now runs the estate with her husband Paul. The 4-hectare vineyard, planted exclusively with Chardonnay grapes, lies on the Montagne de Reims, in the shadow of the Mont de Berru. Its subsoil features a deep layer of chalk, the most favorable terroir for the chardonnay grape. Know-how and tradition are the watchwords of the estate, which has just been awarded VDC and HVE certification.
