Gault&Millau's review
Aurélien Lurquin is one of the up-and-coming young generation in Champagne. A member of the Des pieds et des vins association (along with other winemakers featured in this guide, such as Guillaume Sergent, Barrat-Masson, Barbichon...), which aims to raise the profile of terroir-based champagnes, Aurélien now produces just a few thousand bottles a year of his assertive, beautiful style. For him, making wine means "using all five of my senses to discover the new juice, while allowing the twelve months that forged its identity to express themselves as purely as possible". A domaine that was still confidential just a few years ago, and whose cuvées now fetch stratospheric prices.
