Remarkable Restaurant He'd been dreaming of this for a long time, of being at home, cooking his own food, albeit without the resources offered by the Gabriel and Saint-Emilion groups, but with the same determination, the same high standards, the same talent, and at home.... Alexandre Baumard, Grand de Demain 2021, opened Amicis for friends at the end of April in Bordeaux's chic Golden Triangle. With two atmospheres and very affordable prices, the chef-owner has succeeded in creating a place that reflects his image, and the early results are very encouraging. You'll appreciate the decor, a beautiful contemporary setting in light colors, chic and elegant... right down to the dressing code of the waitresses elegantly dressed in the same shades. The lunchtime menu is very attractive (€32 with choice), but if you're looking for Alexandre Baumard's gastronomic dishes, it's in the evening that you'll find them, upstairs (the Table d'Amicis) for a cosy, warm atmosphere with the large "La vie est une Fête" menu at €115, or "downstairs" at La Table des Amis to choose à la carte dishes identical to those on the large menu. We enthusiastically follow the chef's marine theme, even if a meat dish can be added as an extra. An iodized immersion full of sensibility, with a sense of perfection in both cooking and striking combinations, and always so much creativity: shellfish au naturel and first tomatoes, raw and cooked langoustine stuffed zucchini flower, plancha meagre and summer truffle, smoked sturgeon and onions... For the sweet score, his partner and accomplice Damien Amilien (Trophée Pâtisserie GM 2023) builds his desserts between acidity, freshness and gourmandise. An excellent wine cellar to meet every need, pairings from €60 for 3 glasses, enthusiastic and efficient service.
