Ludovic TURAC
Chef : 1 restaurantCooking has always played a key role in Ludovic Turac's daily life. "For me, cooking was a normal part of life, because I saw Grandma get up every morning and do it. It wasn'tuntil I grew up that I realized it was a profession," he explains. That's how he began his apprenticeship at Marseille's Une Table au Sud restaurant,"not knowing that [he was] going to buy it a few years later."
In 2009, he left to train with Éric Frechon at Le Bristol, before joining Guy Savoy for a year as demi-chef de partie. He then joined Christophe Bacquié at Monte Cristo, the Hôtel du Castellet restaurant, before being called back by Lionel Lévy as second chef at Une Table au Sud. To round off a busy 2011, he took part in season 2 of "Top Chef" on M6, where he was eliminated by Pierre Sang.
At the age of 24, he returned to his hometown, Marseille, to take over Une Table au Sud. The chef is now on a roll. In 2019, he even published his first cookbook with the magazine Le Cœur des chefs. But two years later, he was dealt a blow when he lost his star. "I had two options: lament and cry foul, or question myself. I'm very interested in culinary guides, so I chose the second option."A successful gamble. In 2022, he was awarded the Grand de Demain PACA trophy,"a distinction that makes you dream", he enthuses. His goal today:"To obtain the 4th toque, and why not be Cook of the Year."
