Zurich invites itself to Paris: a Swiss-German Christmas feast not to be missed

Zurich invites itself to Paris: a Swiss-German Christmas feast not to be missed

Mathilde Bourge | 11/6/24

From November 15 to 17, 2024, Paris will welcome several chefs from Zurich, Switzerland, for gourmet dinners and a street food day. Discover the program below.

Zurich comes to Paris for an immersive Swiss-German culinary experience, thanks to "Advent Advent - Zürich's Best Xmas Fest". Organized by Phamily First in partnership with the Zurich Tourist Office, this pop-up event offers a weekend-long opportunity to discover Zurich's festive cuisine in a convivial atmosphere. From November 15 to 17, 2024, Zurich chefs and sommeliers will gather in Paris to unveil a little-known side of Swiss gastronomy, rich in local traditions and flavors.

Two gourmet dinners and a street food day

The festivities kick off at the eco-responsible restaurant Les Ventrus, on the banks of the Canal de l'Ourcq, where three emblematic Zurich chefs - Marius Frehner (restaurant Gamper, 3 toques), George Tomlin (restaurant Silex, 2 toques) and Michaela Frank-share their modern vision of Zurich cuisine at six-hand dinners on Friday and Saturday evenings. The menu, specially designed for this event, revisits classic Swiss festive dishes: from Marius Frehner's "Gemüse Terrine" to raclette reinvented as a main course, not forgetting Zurich's signature dessert, "Vermicelles", a traditional sweet reworked by the trio of chefs. All accompanied by natural wines carefully selected by Édouard Thorens, sommelier at Zurich bar The Bottle Shop, guaranteeing a complete and authentic taste experience.

To round off the weekend, on Sunday November 17, Action Burger, a renowned Zurich restaurant, takes up residence at the Bar Principal in Paris' 11th arrondissement. From noon to 6pm, the Parisian public is invited to savor their Swiss Action Burger, a local street-food specialty topped with melted raclette cheese, for an express and tasty immersion in Zurich's culinary culture.

This culinary celebration offers Parisians a taste of Zurich West, Zurich's creative district, without leaving Paris, to celebrate Advent together with a touch of Swiss-German.
