An Art Deco bank becomes a majestic hotel in central Lille
The Oceania group, originally from Brest, is opening a hotel in a city as yet unexplored by the group, and in an unprecedented location. Lille is the place to be.
A swimming pool dug into the vault, a bar with a counter-like atmosphere and a majestic lobby: this is the setting for Oceania Les Augustins, the new hotel in the center of Lille. The hotel opens its 87 rooms, bar-restaurant and wellness area in a completely renovated former bank.
A former Lille bank, a blend of history and architecture
On Rue du Molinel, a stone's throw from Lille Flandres station, the hotel is housed in the former Scalbert-Dupont bank. This Art Deco-style architectural gem welcomes guests in a lobby under a large glass roof.
Each of the 87 rooms is unique, but all share a common thread of warm, intimate and refined tones. The distinguished world of banking blends with comfortable luxury, provided by modern decor.
The highlight of the show is the stainless steel swimming pool, dug into the middle of the former vault, now visible behind glass. The pool is at the heart of the wellness area, with treatment and massage rooms and a gym.
The culinary experience is not to be outdone, with a passionate duo at the helm. Chef Jayson Clément embodies this universe, in a refined brasserie that echoes the values of the house. The lounge bar is run by head bartender Nicolas Perez.

A hotel for responsible living
This opening marks the first low-carbon hotel in the capital of Flanders. The Oceania group, founded in 1975, has strong values in favor of the environment, convinced that the future of the hotel industry lies in a blend of "comfort and environmental responsibility". The cuisine, for example, is prepared according to a local and anti-gaspi policy. The renovation of the hotel itself was based on an environmental audit, in order to reduce its carbon footprint as much as possible.
