The only sweet tea time where everything is laid out in front of you, it's here!
When you're looking for the perfect place for a tea time, Paris has no shortage of addresses. But you certainly won't find any like this one. Discover the unique experience offered by this great pastry house.
A few months ago, Ladurée reopened the doors of its Champs Élysées address. The interior has been redesigned from A to Z, while retaining the colors and style of the house. The small, narrow lounges upstairs have given way to convivial spaces where musicians come to play a few notes on the generously flowered piano. The 180-seat restaurant has been given a facelift. And among the new features is the famous dessert bar...
A unique tea-time experience
U-shaped, with marble and brass caning, this bar is an invitation to enjoy tea in a different way. The room seats just 15. Behind the bar, space is reserved for the in-house pastry chefs, who create the tasting menu. "The dessert bar experience embodies our desire to create a link between our pastry chefs and our customers. The creations are made before their very eyes. A moment of sharing in an exceptional setting", explains Julien Alvarez, Executive Head Pastry Chef at Ladurée.
The experience takes place in three stages, and consists of six exclusive creations imagined by Julien Alvarez. First, customers are invited to savor the Cookie Glacé Ispahan (with its hint of reviens-y) and the Religieuse Coco. The tasting continues with the milk chocolate and hazelnut soufflé tart from Lot-et-Garonne, accompanied by the Gâteau de Savoie (our favorite). And for a touch of freshness, the Kiwi de l'Adour and the Citrus and Orange Blossom Tartelette round off this sweet break. This is an opportunity for customers to observe all the technical skills required to make a pretty (and good) pastry.
Already salivating? Join us between 12 and 6 p.m. for a seat in one of the 15 high chairs at the dessert bar.
The other experience not to be missed...
If you're a lover of patisserie and the House of Ladurée, the other must-see experience takes place at Atelier 75 Champs Élysées, a private space dedicated to pastry classes. These are led by Executive Chef Julien Alvarez himself or a pastry chef from his brigade, and can be booked directly online.
