Grande braderie de Lille: 3 addresses to try during the event
The weekend of September 2 and 3, 2023 marks the return of Europe's biggest flea market. It's a great opportunity to bargain, but also to enjoy the city. Here are three good places to treat yourself.
This first weekend in September, flea market enthusiasts are in for a treat... The weather promises to be mild in Lille, and the timing is perfect, with the Grande Braderie taking over the city's streets. To mark this annual event, the editorial team has selected three places to eat during the festivities. As we all know, bargain hunters generally appreciate a good bargain, and eating well may well be one of them.
The classic Brasserie de la Paix
If there's one type of restaurant everyone agrees on when it comes to choosing an address, it's the brasserie. The editorial team suggests La Brasserie de la Paix on the corner of Place Rihour. Outside, a terrace to enjoy the (last) rays of sunshine. Inside, a retro-decorated room, the hallmark of a classic brasserie. On the menu, traditional dishes: seafood on a platter, sauerkraut and blanquette, but also pad thai for something a little different. As for desserts, profiteroles and Norwegian omelettes provide the sweet note needed for a good meal (or not).

Suzanne, new blood 2024
Among the chefs who shook up the culinary sphere in 2023, and who will be featured in the new edition of Livre 109 soon in bookshops, is the tandem of Elisa Rodriguez and Lucas Tricot. Their restaurant Suzanne has found a place of choice in Lille, on rue Philippe Lebon. Their experience, love of producers and product sourcing, combined with their sense of rigor and technique, really won us over. The duo offer a lunchtime menu at 33 euros, with something for everyone.

Le Braque, the place to be
With its bistro feel, this restaurant has more than one talent up its sleeve. Inspired by the seasons, local harvesting, hunting and fishing, chef Damien Laforce shares his creativity with his guests through generous dishes. The €39 lunchtime menu will be a great appetizer for visiting customers. The editors recommend you try the Avant comptoir, the 5, 6 or 7-course evening menu in a relaxed setting on high stools with comfortable seats (owner's promise).
- 45/47 Rue de la Monnaie, 59800 Lille Tel 03 20 04 25 38

For these three restaurants, the editors recommend reservations, as the weekend promises to be busy. Discover more places to stay and enjoy the city in our article: Les 10 qui font Lille.
