Villa Salvador, a tribute to Dalí

Villa Salvador, a tribute to Dalí

Set away from the village, but close to everything, this intimate little enclave is inspired by the Catalan painter's house, only less crazy. Immaculate walls and earthy colors for a few days of freedom in the light of the Costa Brava.

In summer, Cadaqués is like the Côte d'Azur. The village explodes. How many artists, seduced by the isolation, the wild beauty of nature and the light, have stayed in this Iberian Saint-Tropez, also lost at the end of its peninsula?all the surrealists came here to visit Salvador Dalí: Magritte, Buñuel, Duchamp, Picasso... Dalí is inseparable from Cadaqués, and he couldn't see himself living anywhere else: " I'm inseparable from this sky, this sea, these rocks. This is the only place where I'm at home. "

The sandy beach of Père Fet and its crystal-clear waters are 300 metres away, the village of Cadaqués is a 15-minute walk along the seafront, the house of Port Lligat - where Dali lived with Gala for almost fifty years - on the other side. The first virtue of Villa Salvador is its location, well protected in the cocoon of its garden.

Villa next door to the painter

Spanish hotel group Fimed Hotels took its inspiration from the painter's neighboring house, but with less eccentricity. The walls are whitewashed, the floors are terracotta brick. Decorated with screens and textiles, the setting is sober, but all the codes of the Mediterranean are there.not to mention the plaster egg, Dalí's favorite symbol, which watches over the saltwater pool. Each of the sixteen rooms and suites, four of which offer a sea view, has a unique configuration, and all are equipped with a remarkable sense of detail.

In the morning, after a healthy breakfast, enjoy the first light on the coastal path, savor the surprise ofa view of the sea that always appears when you least expect it, and watch the sails of the fishermen as they set sail. Later, armed with a picnic provided by the chef, why not ask to hire a Catalan boat? or reserve the hotel's 100% electric Ami Buggy for 80 kilometers of freedom in silence and fresh air.

In the evening, when you're back from your sun-drenched days, you can relax by the pool, or even in the small wellness-balneo area, where a masseur offers tailor-made therapies. Then perhaps a few tapas, or a glance at the menu of the chef, also inspired by the location? The restaurant, bathed in natural light, opens onto the terrace and garden. Breathe, you're on vacation...
