Château d'Audrieu, a holiday combining history and well-being
When the woodwork tells the story and the gardens open up like pages, Château d'Audrieu becomes more than just a place to stay. It becomes the story of an elegant, lively and delicious Normandy.
You cross the driveway lined with century-old trees, and already the Château d'Audrieu looms majestically into view. The scent of apple trees from the neighboring orchard wafts through the air, and on the reception table, a glass of apple juice from Domaine de la Flaguerie invites you to put down your bags and slow down. Here, every moment is worth savouring.
An estate rich in history
Every step inside the château tells the story of centuries of history. built in the 18th century on medieval foundations, Château d'Audrieu is a listed historic monument and a member of Relais & Châteaux, a guarantee of its refinement and hospitality. It was successively the home of the de Percy and de Séran families. The side staircases, rocaille woodwork and large fireplaces - some still in use in the winter months - bear witness to this rich past.
Today, these living stones are home to 30 rooms and suites, where the old blends harmoniously with contemporary touches: mirrors at the entrance to the restaurant, armchairs upholstered in bouclette or leopard print, and a warmly modern choice of paint - such as the Egyptian red on the wall of the gourmet restaurant - respect the heritage of the place. Children will be enchanted by the cuddly toys offered in a nod to the estate's two donkeys, Nono and Zoé, as well as by the outdoor games and books installed in the reception area. Pets are also welcome, adding a touch of freedom and conviviality.
