Gault&Millau's review
Founded in 1960, the company has been run by Michel Chauvet and Sylvie Lancelot since 1996. Their son Édouard will join them in 2021, carrying the torch for the fourth generation. Today, the estate boasts 5 ha under the VDC label (sustainable viticulture in Champagne). The wines, all blanc de blancs, come mainly from the grand cru terroirs of the Côte des Blancs: Avize, Cramant, Oger and Chouilly. The traditional chalk cellar, dug into a mound backing onto the house, houses the bottles, which age for between two and seven years. Traditional family know-how remains firmly rooted on the estate, and the wines, marked by their terroir of origin, offer citrus, floral and pastry flavors with all the freshness typical of Chardonnay.
