The genealogy of the Goussard family and its various branches traces a long history of winegrowing. In 1989, Didier Goussard, who also owned the estate, joined forces with his family to create Val de Sarce. Since 2007, with the arrival of a new generation, each of the partners has wished to create their own brand and develop it independently. In 2023, Didier Goussard wanted to clarify the offer by creating the Octave Goussard brand, dedicated to certified organic cuvées.
