Unfortunately made in a very small volume for the Spécial Club, this 2012 is superbly balanced. A fine, crystalline nose of fresh grapes is followed by a palate of white fruit, chalk and citrus. Full-bodied, never devoid of finesse, this cuvée is a Champagne example: between fruit and chalky tension. Buy it all.

A balancing act, Jean-Paul always finds the right tone with wines that are never exuberant, but always generous and fine. Respectful of his terroir, Jean-Paul's soil cultivation is pesticide-free. French wine-lovers, don't let all those bottles go abroad, and discover "Clos Le Léon", which Jean-Paul produces in the Champagne appellation, but also in white coteaux-champenois when the vintage permits.
