Gault&Millau's review
Located in the idyllic village of Verzenay, this house, founded in 1923, is run by Manuel Janisson, whose two grandfathers were already champagne producers. Today, Manuel, assisted by Cyril Tanazacq, one of the rising stars of winemaking, manages a 10-hectare vineyard spread over a varied range of Champagne terroirs: Montagne de Reims (Verzenay, Ambonnay...), Côte des Blancs (le Mesnil-sur-Oger), Vallée de la Marne (Essomes) and Côte des Bar (Chervey). The average age of the vines is 40 years, with 70% red grape varieties. Since 2019, the estate has been owned by LVMH.
