Jacques Defrance
Since 1867, four generations have succeeded one another on renowned climats. In addition to their sparkling pearls, the Defrance family has long had the privilege and art of vinifying the famous rosé-des-riceys wine. The estate's 12 hectares are planted mainly with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes. Christophe Defrance, his wife Marie-Dominique and, more recently, their daughter Anne-Sophie have adopted a policy of integrated viticulture to extract the full richness of their land while respecting nature and the terroir. Today, insecticides, antibotrytis and herbicides are no longer used, and all the soil is cultivated mechanically.
