Winery presentation by Gault&Millau
The Chaput family has been based in the Côte des Bar region for several centuries. Following in Jacques’s footsteps, his son Jacky and grandson Jason now manage the estate, which spans 14 hectares of vineyards, primarily planted with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay on terroirs composed of marl, limestone, and clay. For many of their cuvées, they age the wine for particularly long periods—often more than 10 years—which gives the champagnes complexity and richness. The bottles are recognizable by the salamander, the emblem of King Francis I.
