Gault&Millau's review
In the family home, anchored in the heart of the village of Ludes on the Reims mountain, the third generation is taking over the estate. François Huré and his wife produce champagnes that reflect their origins. A family story, a passion shared by brothers and values handed down for over 50 years. Here, we don't hesitate to use organic compost as a soil improver, and we're gradually phasing out the use of herbicides. Half of the vineyard is ploughed, while the other half is under controlled natural grass cover. Located to the west of the Montagne de Reims, Villedommange has a soil dating from the Tertiary period, made up of a mixture of limestone and clay. Chalk is present at greater depths. All our wines are remarkable and seek a true terroir identity. For reasons beyond our control and that of the estate, we were unable to taste this year's champagnes, so we are reproducing last year's notes.
