Winery presentation by Gault&Millau
In addition to being considered the oldest wine house in Champagne—even though at the time —1584—the wines were not sparkling, Gosset is also known for a distinctive bottle style—the “antique bottle”—which dates back to 1760. An exclusive design adorned with a label known as the “médaillon en sautoir.” Inside each bottle are champagnes that are unique for their great mineral freshness combined with a deep vinosity, a tradition upheld by the cellar master, Odilon de Varine, who in 2026 celebrated ten years in this role, which he holds alongside that of deputy general manager.
