This parcel of Meunier was replanted by Pierre Delouvin (grandfather) in 1974 using massal selection. Aged in “vieille futaille” for 24 months, soft old oak precedes red berries and fruit on the nose, before purple and dried black plums, with soft black spices, and a heady feeling. Heat is the first feeling on the palate, then smooth, fleshy and fondu fruits, dark berries, some orange agrumes, and the individual character of dry white sour dough (this is definitely not Pinot Noir). Succulent and salivating acidity adds texture to this vintage with virtually no tannins, a mouthwatering wine to complement dishes with heavy sauce.
