A youthful nose of lemon and wood. Notes of small wild strawberries, raspberry, quince and ripe pear emerge. A sunny side warms from the start. On the palate, ripeness is confirmed with sweet spices, but also, surprisingly, a root-like sensation. A hint of tannin clings to the palate, making it ideal for pairing with a sauce to soften it.

The 8.6-hectare estate benefits from a unique terroir. Here, the Marne River brings moisture to the lower part of the valley, and a thick morning fog blankets the vineyards before the sun shines on the south-facing slopes. This unique characteristic, combined with the richness of the soil, creates an ideal environment for growing Pinot Meunier, which accounts for 80% of the vineyard’s grape varieties. A ninth-generation winemaker, Swann Aguilar discovered a label bearing the Del’Hozanne-Guiborat name in the family archives. He drew inspiration from it to launch his own brand of organic champagne, named Del’Ozart.
