The texture is delightfully tactile. The nose is rich, complex and energetic, with notes of stewed white fruit and licorice. The homogeneous palate is carried by an accomplished minerality. The Danteny-Mangin winery is located on the banks of the Canal Latéral à la Marne, in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ. It produces 28,000 bottles, including an Avize "Clos Jacquin" cuvée, the flagship of the range, which, after being corked and stapled, rests for five years in the cellar. The estate has signed the Vignerons Indépendants charter and vinifies only its own grapes. Patrick Danteny, a likeable character and lover of fine automobiles, has created a special "Porsche Club Motorsport" cuvée that every Porsche enthusiast should have in his or her front trunk.
