Chef's Restaurant Of course, there's the sumptuous, but not overwhelming, setting of the Hôtel Royal, whose immense façade, period furniture, inimitably charming salons and frescoes by Gustave Jaulmes have made it a legend. Of course, staying in this mythical residence is not for everyone, but among the restaurant options on offer (the Véranda with its lovely view of the lake, the Oliveraie by the pool), the table amirale offers an exclusive experience at an affordable price. The Découverte menu starts at just €100, and already offers a fine wild sea bream, orchard apples and citrus fruit as a starter, a fine supreme of Bresse poularde studded with foie gras in a yellow wine sauce as a main course, and an interesting version of Savoy pear, rice pudding, Espelette pepper and Maury wine for dessert. The terrace, with its panoramic view of the lake, is very popular in summer.
