Remarkable Restaurant This family-run Quercy inn (5ᵉ generations of the Chambon family) has a certain charm, thanks to its location (the Ouysse and its collapsed bridge, Belcastel castle on the heights, the large shaded terrace) and its history. Matthieu is always on hand (and perfect), and his brother Stéphane in the kitchen. Today's menu is a little tighter than it was a few years ago, but still offers some great moments, with strong specialties (stuffed pig's trotters, foie gras, langoustine tails). A total of 17 different dishes on offer (compared with over 25 in 2019). The cuisine is as seductive as ever, highly personal and often inventive. Of particular note was the astonishing and ultra-gourmand "tournedos de ris de veau dorés au beurre - épinards et champignons d'ici et d'ailleurs, un bon jus de viande", which followed the fleur de zucchini à la mousseline de brochet crème de crustacés à la mélisse, and before the poached and roasted apricots - honey siphon, almond crumble and vanilla ice cream. Nice overall service (appetizers, hors d'oeuvres, mignardises, several breads), excellent wine list, especially from the South-West, with a young sommelier to match. Friendly service, a touch "hotel school" and focused on the task in hand.
