Gault&Millau's review2026
A historic setting next to the abbey, fine manners and the Ducasse signature - enough to reassure chic tourists wandering around the Sainte-Baume. If you were to ask a discerning taster if he or she would spend €100 on this two-course meal, where the ingredients (hake, chicken, squid, pig...), despite a little truffle, remain modest, as do the culinary gestures (broths, cooking juices, a little assembly), the answer would undoubtedly be negative. But if you look closely, the equivalent offer is rare in Brignoles, unless you can get yourself invited to Georges Clooney's, the house is open all year round, the young people in the dining room apply themselves with dedication (and talking about "tuber melasporum" doesn't bother the foreign clientele, who aren't a syllable away) and the pastry chef always has the right touch, with a kiwi dessert that's also fairly simple, but nicely fresh and just right. The wine cellar is classic and well-stocked, with well-chosen glasses (Annibals blanc La Jouvencelle at €14) and a few good-value labels.
