Gourmet Restaurant Oscar Garcia loves a challenge. Franck Putelat's former second-in-command, who impressed us so much in his first position as chef at the Table d'Uzès, winning 3 toques straight away, opened this fine table a year ago with his partner Julie Pons, in a proud classic 19th-century manor house on the edge of the département, near Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne. In this superb setting, which was once the home of a winegrower and a livestock merchant, he expresses a sense of beauty and goodness based on the region. With his technical background, the chef knows how to make the most of the product while giving it a very personal, elaborate, graphic twist, in a beautiful room with stone walls and warm materials, blond wood and beige tones for the most part.
