Suzanne Waymel has always loved cooking. "When I was a child on the farm, I did it to please my parents when they came home from the fields," she recalls. After taking her baccalauréat S, she enrolled at the Lycée Hôtelier in Le Touquet. It was during an internship at Jardins d'Épicure, in Bray-et-Lû (Île-de-France), that she met her future husband, Olivier Da Silva.

With her diploma in hand, she moved to Emmanuel Renaut in Megève (Alps). "I started by the back door, in the brasserie. I spent six months there, and then I moved up to the gastro, at Flocons de Sel," she explains. The chef then joined Éric Pras at Maison Lameloise in Chagny (Burgundy)."I wanted to return to a more modest kitchen where I could evolve and, in time, express myself a little more."

In 2016, she crossed paths again with Olivier Da Silva, who invited her to join him at his restaurant, L'Odas, in Rouen."His establishment had been open for a year and he was looking to expand his team," she explains. Since then, her husband has opened a second restaurant in the region. Suzanne Waymel took up the torch and was awarded the Gault&Millau Jeune Talent trophy in 2022.
