Presentation

Originally from Australia, Sharon Frannais took up cooking because she liked it. " My mother didn't know how to cook, so, in order to eat well, I had to get into the kitchen" As a result, the teenager oriented her studies towards the restaurant business and sharpened her first knives, between 1995 and 2000, at Marks, a restaurant located in Geelong.

Curious to see what was being done in Europe, Sharon Frannais flew to London and trained in a number of renowned restaurants for four years, until she met her future husband, pastry chef Jimmy Frannais, during a visit to France. In 2005, she decided to cross the Channel for good, and set up home with Franck Renimel at the Relais de Pigasse in Ouveillan (Aude). "Then the chef decided to take us all with him to open François Plantation in Saint-Barthélemy. I was right to follow him because, a year later, I took over as chef."

In 2007, Sharon Frannais returned to France and took up her post at Hôtel Le Chalet Blanc, Montgenèvre (Hautes-Alpes), before buying out Le Péché Gourmand in 2010, an establishment created by Laurent Petit in 1987 in Briançon and nestled on the banks of the Guisane. "In the beginning, we were both in the kitchen, he was in charge of the pastries and I was in charge of everything else. Since the Covid-19 crisis, he's been in charge of the dining room." Influenced by her Australian origins, Sharon Frannais offers a mixed cuisine that she refines over time.
