Elegant, attentive, and warm: the latest edition of the Gault&Millau France guide hails Patricia Rothacker as a restaurant manager of a kind rarely found. Since 2025, she and her husband have been at the helm of Maison Héritage, formerly known as Auberge au Bœuf.
Ten Years Traveling the World
Born in Lorraine and drawn to the hospitality industry from a young age, she trained in Strasbourg. After graduating from hospitality school, she spent ten years abroad: in Austria, Mexico, Argentina, and the United States. Upon returning to Alsace, she first worked for the Hilton Group, then for Montblanc, where she remained for twenty-six years.
A Meeting, Then a Partnership
It was at an event organized by Montblanc that she met Christian Rothacker, who would become her husband. As the head of a major optical chain, he was also one of the buyers who took over the Racing Club de Strasbourg. In 2020, he met Yannick Germain, chef at the Auberge au Bœuf. Five years later, the chef joined forces with the couple to breathe new life into the inn, which was renamed Maison Héritage.
For Patricia Rothacker, it’s a return to her first love. She is helping to usher this establishment—founded in the late 19th century by Yannick Germain’s great-great-uncle—into a new era. An establishment that has weathered the ages without losing its soul, and which today boasts a 15/20 rating and three toques.
