Anne et Julien GLEIZE
Chef : 1 restaurantL'Agape, Anne and Julien Gleize's restaurant, is the fruit of a love story. The couple met in 1990. He was an intern at the restaurant of the Hotel La Beaugravière in Mondragon, while she worked in tourism. Although they lost sight of each other, the future husband and wife met again twenty years later and never left each other's side.
In the meantime, Julien Gleize has worked at L'Oasis on the Côte d'Azur and Jardin des Sens in Montpellier. He also worked for the Pourcel brothers as chef at the Maison Blanche in Paris, then at the Villa Augusta in the Drôme. Anne, on the other hand, realized her dream and became a flight attendant.
The two young lovers met again in 2010, when Julien Gleize was working as chef and co-owner of Domaine du Colombier, in the Drôme region. "We met by chance, through a mutual friend, and it was love at first sight," says Anne. Soon, the couple were forming new projects, including opening their own restaurant. " We had a hotel-restaurant with 26 rooms, and I wanted to refocus on cooking, my core business," explains the Grand of Demain 2008.
This was achieved in June 2014, when the duo opened L'Agape, in Avignon. After training as a sommelier, Anne took on the position of front-of-house manager."Julien gave me total freedom in the dining room and in my way of being; I'm not in the business, so I improvised," Anne confides. This spontaneity and freshness were rewarded with the "Accueil" trophy at the Gault&Millau Tour PACA 2022. The restaurant has been boasting 2 toques since 2018.
