Hervé TAÏEB
Before becoming President of Champagne Gustave Eiffel, Hervé Taïeb worked in industry. For the past five years, he has been committed to developing the brand, whose birthplace is in Crugny, in the Ardre valley. In 1889, at the inauguration of his tower, Gustave Eiffel opened a bottle of champagne, his favorite beverage... Quite a symbol, since a few decades later, his family launched a champagne brand in his name, which they now want to be even more widely known. A brand that relies not only on communication strategies, but above all on the quality work carried out on the Crugny estate, not far from Reims: 10 hectares planted with chardonnay, pinot noir and pinot meunier, on slopes with limestone subsoil topped by a thin layer of clay. Far from wishing to compete with the Champagne behemoths on large volume markets, Hervé Taïeb is more interested in attracting niche markets, in the restaurant and nightlife worlds for example. His arguments? Three cuvées: a brut Réserve and a rosé combining the three grape varieties, and a blanc de blancs - therefore 100% chardonnay - which combines fine bubbles, gourmandise and great aromatic complexity.
