Chef : 1 restaurant Head of an empire of over 94 establishments, including "Gordon Ramsay at the Trianon" in Versailles, Gordon Ramsay is one of the world's most famous and influential chefs.Born in the Glasgow suburb of Johnstone, Gordon Ramsay dreamed of a career as a professional footballer. But a serious injury put a stop to his sporting future, and he turned his attention to cookery and enrolled at a catering college.
After a first experience at the Wroxton House Hotel, he moved to London and worked there for three years. In response to his desire to discover French gastronomy, his employer recommended him to chef Albert Roux, who ran a restaurant in London. He then perfected his experience in France, at L'Hotel Diva, Isola 2000, then with Guy Savoy and Joël Robuchon.
His career took off when he returned to London and took the reins of La Tante Claire, then the Rossmore, which he renamed Aubergine. His career literally took off when he opened his eponymous restaurant in Chlesea.
From then on, he built up a gigantic gastronomic empire, opening establishments all over the world, from New York to Dubai, via Singapore, Glasgow and Tokyo.
The chef also conquered Europe, opening a restaurant in Ireland before settling in Versailles, at the Trianon Palace, and also in Bordeaux (Le pressoir d'Argent).
