Emmanuel PILLOT
Chef : 1 restaurant In Boulogne-sur-Mer, Emmanuel and Laura Pillot have founded Orizon, a sincere and promising table where passion, courage and transmission are expressed, in the tradition of chef Benjamin Delpierre.Originally from Rognac, near Marseille, Emmanuel Pillot was not destined for gastronomy. After a few years in the social sector, he discovered haute cuisine at La Bastide des Moustiers, a decisive experience that revealed his vocation. The death of his mother acted as a driving force, and he threw himself wholeheartedly into this demanding profession.
From Marseille to the North: the decisive encounter
Wishing to be closer to his son, Emmanuel moved to the Hauts-de-France region. One day, he posted an advert in L'Hôtellerie Restauration; Benjamin Delpierre, chef at La Liégeoise in Wimereux, saw it and reached out to him.
"He immediately offered me a position as chef, but I didn't feel ready. He insisted on taking me on as second. "Six months later, Emmanuel took charge of the kitchen, supported by a team he admires. It was also here that he met Laura, who had already been at the helm for several years.
Birth ofOrizon, a life project
When Benjamin Delpierre decided to take La Liégeoise to the next level, Emmanuel and Laura decided to strike out on their own. Together, they found a place opposite Nausicaá, which they transformed into a restaurant: Orizon.
The couple sold everything to get started - right down to their car - and opened in 2025, in the midst of a period of uncertainty. "For the moment, we're paying our bills, which isn't bad ," smiles Emmanuel.
A cuisine of emotion and transmission
At Orizon, human values are paramount: sincerity, sharing, respect for the product. Emmanuel still works with the producers he met at La Liégeoise, and attracts a loyal clientele curious to follow his adventure.
"We hope to be able to invest and develop the business. We believe in it! "confides the couple, determined to make Orizon a part of the Côte d'Opale's gastronomic landscape.
