Élise ROBERGE
Head waiter : 1 restaurant Élise Roberge's delicious accent can't betray her origins for long. The young Quebecoise lights up the room at the Auberge de la Madeleine in Gétigné.Nothing predestined Élise Roberge to join the world of catering, having grown up with parents working for the Canadian government, and having become an elementary school teacher on completion of her studies. It was when she accepted a job as a waitress during the school vacations that the young woman developed a taste for the world of the dining room, although she admits that she lost interest in teaching rather quickly .
"I like this contact with customers, listening tothem, knowing which tables want to talk, or those who prefer to be leftalone. Eventually, I met a Frenchman who used to work in my restaurant, and he asked me to join him in Touraine, where he was returning to settle. That was in September 2024, and I've been blossoming at the Auberge de la Madeleine ever since. "
Sparkling, eager to learn - "I'm working hard to improve my knowledge of wine", she explains - she uses her Quebec accent to break the ice with customers... and win this well-deserved Jeune Talent Service en Salle trophy.
