Bruno OGER
Chef : 2 restaurantsHe was our last Cook of the Year of the previous millennium, honored in our 2000 edition. Bruno Oger was not yet 35, but at the time we chose to crown this gifted Breton hunk with his golden fingers and charming eyes.
The former pupil of Georges Blanc, in Vonnas, whom he says is his spiritual father, had arrived at the Villa des Lys, the restaurant of the Majestic hotel, in Cannes, in 1995. Four years later, his name came to the fore when it came time to choose our Chef of the Year, over the heads of a dozen or so natural candidates for the supreme title. His talent, energy and subtle yet dazzling style won us over.
Ten years later, the Morbihan native decided to set up on his own, in this Villa Archange perched on the heights of Cannes. "Poorly placed... He won't get far..." we heard at the time. The four toques are still there, and this chef-aubergist is more dashing than ever at the helm of this perfectly renovated 18th-century bourgeois house.
