Aurélie DI GENNARO
Chef de service : 1 restaurant"I offered retirement to those who offered me my first permanent contract."Indeed, Aurélie Di Gennaro's career path is unique, to say the least. The young woman took her first steps in front-of-house service at the Relais du Gué de Selle, in Mézangers (Mayenne). For nine months, she put into practice her business studies and her additional qualification in reception. It was also here that she took up her first position as receptionist.
Five years passed. "I wanted to move on, so I moved back to the Paris region."She became assistant head receptionist at the Domaine de la Corniche restaurant in Yvelines. After a season in Roscoff (Finistère), she joined the Hôtel Masa in Paris. A year later, chef Hervé Rodriguez became the owner and relocated the hotel to Boulogne-Billancourt.
In 2012, Aurélie Di Gennaro moved on to become assistant manager of a tourist residence in the Yvelines region. For six years, she managed over 150 appart-hotels. In 2018, just as she was beginning to miss the restaurant business, an opportunity presented itself. "I called one of my former employers at Gué de Selle. In the course of a conversation, he tells me that they want to retire and want to sell."
In 2019, she and her husband Anthony Detemmermann become the proud owners of this 27-room hotel and its gourmet restaurant. Aurélie Di Gennaro is awarded the Gault&Millau Accueil Centre-Val de Loire & Pays de la Loire 2023 trophy."I said to myself one day that if I had a trophy, I'd like it to be this one!"
