Arthur PIART
Chef : 1 restaurantIn Norman dialect, to be "alouvi", or "allouvi", means to be hungry as a wolf. Perhaps it's a way of showing the fangs of ambition for Marie and Arthur Piart, who set up in Fécamp in June.
"We thought it had potential," confides the young chef, who knows Normandy well. Born in Dieppe in 1991, he has worked in some fine establishments and rubbed shoulders with some excellent chefs, including Frédéric Simonin in Paris and Laurent Petit at Clos des Sens in Annecy. On the bustling Quai de la Vicomté, he found a vacant space - formerly La Marine - to set up l'Allouvi with Marie, a pure Fecampoise, who is no stranger either, thanks to her pastry training with Jean-Luc Tartarin in Le Havre.
The location is ideal, but it takes some convincing: in just two months, the town started talking about this new restaurant, which we wanted to visit as soon as possible, intrigued by this wolf-like hunger and this motivated couple.
The result: a mention, 1 toque and a first award with the title of Jeune Talent for the Normandie edition of the Gault&Millau Tour in 2023.
Their strength undoubtedly lies in their complementary skills and the energy they exude, combined with undeniable technical know-how and an already high regard for local produce. " We've done the rounds of the producers, to keep only those who really suit us, and with whom we're going to work", they add. One thing is certain: despite their young age, they both know where they want to go.
