Head sommelier : 1 restaurant With La Table du Gourmet since 2011, Anne Humbrecht is passionate about vineyards and sommellerie. She won the Sommelier Grand Est 2023 trophy. With a grandfather who was a blacksmith, a grandmother who was a winemaker and parents who owned a farm inn, Anne Humbrecht grew up with a "taste for the real and the authentic". "I like to say that I'm a sommelier-winemaker", she stresses.
This "clear-cut path" led her to the hotel school in Guebwiller (Haut-Rhin). After completing her internships in England and Germany, she went on to study with the famous sommelier Paul Brunet at the Lycée Hôtelier d'Illkirch-Graffenstaden.
Fresh out of school, she joined the Domaine du Kaegy in Steinbrunn-le-Bas (Haut-Rhin). "Bernard Begat put his trust in me. After three years with the establishment, she moved to the Auberge de Schoenenbourg to work with François Kiener, promoting "true wines that respect the place and the terroir". She stayed for sixteen years, until the chef retired.
It didn't take long for a new opportunity to arise: "The Brendels were looking for a sommelier, so I phoned up and the adventure was off!"Since 2011, Anne Humbrecht has been head sommelier at La Table du Gourmet in Riquewihr (Haut-Rhin). Gault&Millau awarded her the Sommelier Grand Est 2023 trophy.
