A night at the Musée d'Orsay for the Olympic opening ceremony - it's possible! (For the lucky ones)

A night at the Musée d'Orsay for the Olympic opening ceremony - it's possible! (For the lucky ones)

Mathieu Dubus | 5/28/24, 4:47 PM

The opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games will be held this July 26, 2024. For the occasion, the Musée d'Orsay is giving away a night for two in the Salon de l'horloge, specially fitted out for the occasion.

The initiative, organized by Airbnb, is not the first of its kind. The American giant has been making identical proposals for several years now. Its aim: to create buzz by offering unusual experiences across the globe. At a conference held in Los Angeles on Wednesday 1ᵉʳ May 2024, Airbnb founder Brian Chesky explained that 4,000 winners would win a night of this kind in 2024. It will therefore be possible for one or two lucky people to enjoy a unique night in the Salon de l'horloge at the Musée d'Orsay. The space has been specially fitted out for the occasion...

An immersive experience in the Olympic world

To create the most pleasant space possible, the American rental platform called on the Olympic flame's designer, Mathieu Lehanneur. He designed the room to provide the best possible experience for the two lucky guests. They'll be immersed in a resolutely Olympic universe, with a boxing bag, dumbbells and even an Olympic torch. The lounge also boasts a breathtaking view of the Seine and the opening ceremony.

In addition to the room, the two guests will also have the chance to enjoy other prestigious benefits. They'll be able to discover the museum's Impressionist collection thanks to privileged access, as well as exclusive behind-the-scenes access. Finally, they'll be treated to a gourmet dinner featuring French classics.

To be selected for this experience, you'll need to be creative. Once you've downloaded the Airbnb app, you'll be asked to tell a story to book the night. This story should convey your motivation to participate in the event. There's no time to lose for the curious: registration closes on May 31, 2024 at 8:59 a.m. precisely.

When chefs take to the high seas

Cruise ships and gastronomy form a well-known duo. Both have been sailing the horizon since the early 20th century. Today, while the sector seems to be experiencing neither crisis nor slowdown, cruise lines are increasingly calling on chefs whose careers are already well established on land, to appeal to an inevitably volatile clientele.
