Hôtel Barrière Le Normandy, Deauville

Billed as “the most beautiful hotel in the world” when it opened in 1912, this green-half-timbered manor house with turrets has hosted Chanel, Gainsbourg, and the filming of Un homme et une femme. Le Grand Hôtel Cabourg – MGallery, Cabourg

Overlooking Cabourg’s main beach, this 5-star hotel is first and foremost a place of historical significance: Marcel Proust stayed here between 1907 and 1914, and it was here that part of In Search of Lost Time was written, before he transformed the hotel into the “Grand Hôtel de Balbec.” Restored under the guidance of MGallery, the hotel has preserved its Belle Époque atmosphere in its 71 rooms and suites, including Room 414, “Marcel Proust,” a faithful reproduction of the writer’s own room. Maison Douce Époque, Bénerville-sur-Mer

Perched on the heights of Mont Canisy, this manor house, built in the early 20th century by architect Henri Goury, reopened in June 2025 under the leadership of Emmanuelle Bourgueil, former owner of the Carl Gustav in Saint-Barth. Its facade, deliberately open to the north, contrary to the conventions of the time, offers one of the most beautiful ocean views among Normandy’s luxury hotels. The 14 rooms and suites, spread between the main house and the former stables, are each named after an author, Proust, Verne, Zola, and blend the Belle Époque spirit with contemporary vintage furnishings. La Ferme Saint-Siméon, Honfleur
