Jessica Prealpato's patisserie takes over Café Richelieu in the Louvre
Pastry chef Jessica Prealpato takes the sweet reins at Café Richelieu, in the heart of the Louvre Museum. A collaboration that brings a new vision of patisserie to this famous Parisian tearoom.
Since April 2026, Jessica Prealpato has been in charge of the pastry menu at Café Richelieu, nestled in the eponymous wing of the Musée du Louvre. Chosen by Alain Ducasse and the Musiam group, the chef is now putting her own stamp on the place, with a new menu just inaugurated.
An inspired and committed patisserie
At Café Richelieu, Jessica Prealpato's patisserie style is immediately recognizable: little sugar, raw ingredients and attention to textures and seasons. Ancient flours, ripe fruits, flowers, aromatic herbs... her "desseralité" is expressed in creations that are both delicate and daring.
Among his first signature desserts are Tatin-style roasted apples with black lemon, and a vanilla Saint-Honoré with cinnamon buds. These desserts are conceived as sensitive compositions, sometimes inspired by works in the Louvre, such as a floral creation evoking a painting by Daniel Seghers.
A new lease of life for a heritage venue
Housed in the former Ministry of Finance room, a stone's throw from the Napoleon III apartments, the Café Richelieu has been given a new lease of life since the Musiam group was awarded the ten-year concession for the Louvre's catering facilities.
Jessica Prealpato is taking part in this culinary renaissance, transforming the place into a contemporary gourmet stopover, in dialogue with the museum's history. A way of bringing haute pâtisserie into one of the world's most visited settings.
